This is a great warm weather cocktail with or without the splash of bitters.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 fluid ounces gin
2 fluid ounces lemon juice
1 fluid ounce simple syrup
1 dash bitters
1 cup ice cubes
ΒΌ cup cold club soda
1 slice lemon, for garnish
1 maraschino cherry

Steps:

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in the gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and a dash of bitters. Cover and shake until the outside of the container is frosty, about 15 seconds. Strain into a highball glass full of ice. Top off with club soda and garnish with a lemon slice and maraschino cherry.

This Tom Collins cocktail has been popular for a long time, but the origin of the name is still up for debate. Some think it was named after a sweet gin called Old Tom, and others believe the drink was named after the bartender who invented it. -Taste of Home Test Kitchen

Number Of Ingredients 5

1-1/2 to 2 cups ice cubes, divided
2 ounces gin
1-1/2 ounces sour mix
1/2 cup club soda, chilled
Optional: orange slice maraschino cherry

Steps:

  • Fill a shaker three-fourths full with ice. Place remaining ice in a Collins or highball glass; set aside. , Add the gin and sour mix to shaker; cover and shake until condensation forms on outside of shaker, 10-15 seconds. Strain into prepared glass. Pour club soda into glass. If desired, garnish with orange slice and cherry.
