THE BEST HAMBURGER RECIPE (AND AMAZING SECRET SAUCE)

The Best Hamburger Recipe (and amazing secret sauce) image

Yield 5

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pound ground beef (I used 80/20 - fattier meat means a juicier burger!)
1/2 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
1/4 cup BBQ sauce
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
pepper, to taste
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup pickle relish
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
5 hamburger buns (we like sesame seed buns)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cheese, bbq sauce, and seasonings. Don't add too much bbq sauce or the patties will have a hard time taking shape. Shape patties that are about 1 inch thick (about 5 patties). (You can also freeze the patties after shaping them for about 1 hour to help them hold their shape.)
  • Turn grill up to high and let it get hot.
  • Reduce heat to medium-high and place the burgers on the grill. Allow this side of the patty to cook for about 4-6 minutes, but make sure it does not burn. Then flip the burger over and cook until done.
  • For the sauce, combine all sauce ingredients and whisk until well mixed. Taste and adjust ingredients to your liking.
  • Assemble the burgers and serve with the special sauce and other hamburger toppings of choice.

Time 25m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/4 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon dill relish
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 pounds ground beef (80 percent lean)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
12 slices American cheese
6 hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted
1 large tomato, sliced
1 1/2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced into rings

Steps:

  • For the special sauce: Stir together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish and Worcestershire in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  • For the double cheeseburgers: Prepare a grill for cooking over medium-high heat.
  • Divide the ground beef into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten it into a thin, 4-inch-diameter patty. Lightly sprinkle the patties with salt and pepper. Grill on one side until about halfway cooked, about 3 minutes. Flip the patties, sprinkle the other side with salt and pepper, top each with a slice of cheese and continue to cook until the patties are cooked through and the cheese has begun to melt, 1 to 2 minutes more.
  • Build each burger on a bun with 2 patties, tomato, lettuce, onion and a generous slathering of special sauce.

JUICIEST HAMBURGERS EVER

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever image

No more dry, lackluster burgers. These are juicy, and spices can be easily added or changed to suit anyone's taste. Baste frequently with your favorite barbeque sauce. If you find the meat mixture too mushy, just add more bread crumbs until it forms patties that hold their shape.

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 premade hamburger patties
6 hamburger buns
1 tablespoon McCormick Grill Mates Barbecue Seasoning
1 tablespoon McCormick Grill Mates Steakhouse Onion Burger Seasoning
1 tablespoon McCormick Grill Mates Mesquite Seasoning
6 slices cheese, personal choice
Optional: lettuce, onion, tomatoes, pickles, etc.

Steps:

  • Add hamburger patties to a large skillet over a medium heat. Add a good amount of all the seasonings to the pan. Cook a few minutes and flip over. Sprinkle seasoning on patty. The more patties you cook, the less seasoning you need to add in pan or it will get too salty, poke 3 holes in patties. Press down releasing some blood juices. Flip over and cook a little longer. Patties are done when inside is no longer pink. If you'd like, toast the buns in either the oven or toaster. Serve the burgers in the buns, topped with cheese. Serve with the toppings of your choice.
