ETHEL'S SUGAR COOKIES image

Number Of Ingredients 7

3/4 cup soft shortening (butter)
1 cup sugar
2 Eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla or lemon extract
2 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Steps:

  • Mix the wet ingredients thoroughly Sift the dry ingredients together Combine until mixed. Chill at least one hour Roll out 1/8" thick or thinner. Cut in shapes. Place on ungreased sheet. Decorate. Bake until golden Temp 400, Time 4-5 minutes
