Wheatena Cookies image

Mom got this recipe off of the Wheatena box "way back when." You can still find Wheatena in some stores. But may be hard to find. Good Luck.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup(s) shortening (mom says butter or margarine works well too)
1 cup(s) sugar
1 - egg
2 tablespoon(s) milk
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup(s) all purpose flour
2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2 cup(s) uncooked wheatena

Steps:

  • Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg (beaten well), milk, and vanilla.
  • Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Add Wheatena. Mix.
  • Combine the two mixtures.
  • Drop by the spoonful onto your cookie sheet (I use aluminum foil). Bake at 375 degrees for 13-15 minutes.
