Number Of Ingredients 10

1 - 12 oz can(s) dr. pepper, cherry pepsi, cherry 7-up, coca cola, etc.
1/2 cup(s) ketchup
1/4 cup(s) dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1/8 cup(s) apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoon(s) worcestershire sauce, reduced sodium
1 1/2 tablespoon(s) coriander
2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon, ground
2 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1 slab - pork spare ribs

Steps:

  • Prepare grill on medium heat.
  • In a large pot, add soda pop of choice, ketchup, 2 tbsp brown sugar, vinegar, worcestershire, 1 tsp coriander, 1/2 tsp cinnamon & 1/2 tsp garlic powder. Over medium high heat, bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium, cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 30 minutes. Reserve.
  • Meanwhile, combine salt, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp coriander, 1 tsp cinnamon & 1 tsp garlic powder. Rub mixture over both sides of ribs. Place ribs over direct heat. Grill, turning once, until browned, 10 minutes per side.
  • Place ribs, meaty side down, over indirect heat. Cover, grill 15 minutes. Turn ribs over; cover & grill until tender, 1 1/2 - 2 hours, brushing with 1/2 of the reserved sauce several times during last 15 - 20 minutes of cooking time. Serve ribs with remaining sauce.
