Got this years ago from my Uncle. It's a brown chili - no tomatoes or beans - but it is my all time favorite!!

Steps:
- 1. Heat oil - brown meat until gray (not brown) - add water and simmer for 1½ hours - stir occasionally. (If you use hamburger, it needs to simmer about 30 minutes)
- 2. Add all other ingredients and simmer 1 hour - stir occasionally.
- 3. To Thicken Skim off as much fat as you can and discard 3 Tlb Flour 6 Tlb Cornmeal Mix together flour and cornmeal with enough cold water to make slurry (about ¾ Cup water more or less) Pour into chili mix and stir until thickened - simmer 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes so thickening won't stick to bottom of pan.
