SPICY MEXICAN SALSA image

Yield 2 cups.

Number Of Ingredients 6

3/4 lb plum tomatoes; coarsely chopped (about 1.5 cups)
3/4 cup coarsely chopped red onion (1/2 large)
1/4 cup coarsely chopped seeded fresh serrano chilies (about 4)
3 T lime juice
1 t salt
1/2 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except cilantro in a food processor and pulse to a coarse puree. Transfer salsa to a bowl and stir in cilantro. Salsa can be made 1 day ahead and chilled, covered.
