Butterscotch brownies image

Very old heirloom recipe of mom's. I found it when we were cleaning out her stuff. It is from my childhood days. Really good but no baking chips!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 c , melted
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c all purpose flour, sifted
1 tsp double acting baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1-11/2 c nuts ( pecans peanuts walnuts .... ) your choice finely chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350oo Melt butter (mama used sauce pan, I microwave). Stir into sugar til melted together . Set aside and COOL these mixture.
  • 2. Beat in egg well
  • 3. Add vanilla .
  • 4. Sift flour with baking powder, & salt this is your 2nd sift!! Stir into butter mixture that's cool.
  • 5. Add nuts. Roll nuts in a bit of flour if you want.
  • 6. Pour batter inroads greased 9x9 square pan.
  • 7. Bake 20-25 mins @ 350oo
  • 8. Cool completely . Cut into 16 THIN 21/2 in squares
