TROUT, FENNEL, AND APPLE TOASTS image

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 can trout filet
1 small apple, cut into matchsticks
1/2 small bulb fennel, cut into matchsticks
Squeeze of lemon
Splash of olive oil
Salt and pepper
4 slices whole grain sourdough bread
3-4 ounces gouda cheese with walnuts

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, toss the trout, apple, fennel, lemon, and olive oil with salt and pepper to taste. Lightly toast the bread and preheat the broiler with the rack positioned in the middle of the oven. Put the toast on a baking sheet and divide the trout mixture among the slices. Top with the cheese. Broil until bubbly.
