This recipe is from the 1960 St. Paul's Church, Cook Book. It is a family favorite, easy to make, with little clean up at the last minute when we just have 'TO EAT CAKE".

Steps:
- Beat 2 eggs well ADD 1 cup of sugar continue beating, ADD vanilla the hot milk and butter to egg/sugar mixture
- Sift the dry ingredients together ADD to wet mixture Combine well but DO NOT overbeat.
- Butter an 8x8 pan Pour mixture into pan BAKE IN A 350 oven 30 minutes or until light brown REMOVE FROM OVEN PUT OVEN TO BROILER
- ICING: Combine all ingredient and and boil on stove for 3 or 4 minutes POUR over hot cake. RETURN TO OVEN TO BROWN. WATCH CAREFULLY NOT TO BURN THE TOPPING.
