Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 cup(s) unsalted butter, and more to grease the dish
1 cup(s) brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup(s) corn syrup or golden syrup
1/2 cup(s) cocoa powder, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon(s) ground himalayan sea salt
1 teaspoon(s) pure vanilla extract
8 cup(s) puffed wheat cereal

Steps:

  • Generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and set aside.
  • In a large pot over medium heat, add butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, cocoa powder and salt. Stir until everything is well combined. When it starts simmering, let it bubble for 2 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and add vanilla; stir well. Add the cereal and stir until evenly coated.
  • Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Press down evenly using a spatula or place parchment paper on top; remove the paper and discard it.
  • Let it sit at room temperature until completely cool, about 1 ½ to 2 hours. Cut into squares and serve.
