MOUNTAIN DEW APPLE DUMPLINGS image

Several year ago I worked second shift nursing. My supervisor loved for me to cook and bring food. He loved for me to share recipes with him. The hospital food wasn't that great so he and I would have a little private picnic. This is a recipe I gave him and he really enjoyed preparing it. I hope you do also.

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 medium size apples
2 can(s) refrigerated crescent rolls
2 stick buttter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c sugar
1 can(s) mountain due drink (not diet)
cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. Peel and core apples and cut into 8 slices each. Roll each slice into a Crescent roll section, secure and place in a 13x9 inch lightly buttered baking pan.
  • 2. Melt the butter then add sugar, barely stir and gently pour over apple dumplings. Then, slowly pour the can of Mt Due around the edge of pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake in pre heated oven at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes. The Mt. Due will evaporate and the dumplings will turn a golden brown.
