Mamma's Pound Cake image

My grandma (Mamma) made this cake every holiday in the year and I wanted to skip the dinner to eat it! It's the best pound cake you have ever tasted!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 pound(s) butter
1 tablespoon(s) crisco shortening
2 cup(s) cake flour
6 - eggs
1 teaspoon(s) pure vanilla extract or lemon extract
2 cup(s) sugar

Steps:

  • Cream butter and sugar and add eggs, one at a time.
  • Add vanilla and a dash of salt.
  • Slowly add flour. Bake in well greased and floured loaf pans ( use crisco for this) at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Test if needed and cook a little longer if not done.
