Light Ginger-Sesame Dressing or Marinade image

This makes a wonderful light dressing and an amazing marinade for shellfish, tofu of chicken. If you have never used sesame oil, you will be surprised how much it can be used.

1/4 cup water
1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
1/4 cup yellow miso (soybean paste)
1/4 cup green onion, chopped finely
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons ginger, peeled and grated
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
4 teaspoons canola oil
2 teaspoons dark sesame oil

Steps:

  • Whisk the water, vinegar and miso together until smooth.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and combine.
  • This makes about 1 1/3 cups, and the serving size is one tablespoon.
