Hershey Fudge Brownies image

This was the way I learned to bake brownies, long before the boxes or bags of mixes were around. Instead of frosting, I always sprinkled them with powdered sugar. You could add nuts if you want, but they are so good this way, I never did!

Number Of Ingredients 9

3/4 c hershey cocoa
1/2 tsp baking soda
2/3 c vegetable oil
2 c sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c boiling water (measure accurately)
1 1/3 c flour
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt (i omit)

Steps:

  • 1. Stir cocoa and soda in mixing bowl. Blend in 1/4 c oil. Add water and stir until mixture thickens. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining oil. Stir until smooth. Add flour, vanilla and salt. Blend completely. Pour into 9x13 pan or two 8" square pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 min. Cool, frost if desired.
