Green Beans With Lemon and Fried Onions image

I found this in my local paper. I served it for Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit. It is a great alternative to green bean casserole!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 1/2 lbs green beans
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 lemon, juice of, about 1/3 cup
1 cup French-fried onions
1/2 pecans, toasted
1 1/2 teaspoons red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Cook beans for 7 minutes. Shock in ice water bath.
  • Heat oil in skillet, saute garlic and pepper flakes.
  • Turn off heat. Add beans and lemon juice. Top with onions and pecans.
