Fresh Plum Crumb Dessert image

I have a special connection with plums. My uncle would make me homemade plum jam every summer so every time I have anything with plums in it I can't help but love it. This is one of my favorite recipes and everyone else loves it.

Number Of Ingredients 10

7 large plums, pitted and quartered
1/2 c packed brown sugar
3 Tbsp plus 1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 c sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 c butter, melted

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, combine the plums, melted sugar, 3 tablespoons flour and cinnamon. Spoon into a greased 2 quart baking dish
  • 2. In a small bowl, combine the sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and remaining flour. Add egg, stir with a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over plum mixture. Drizzle with butter.
  • 3. Bake at 375* for 40-45 minutes or until plums are tender and top is golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes. Serve warm
