Rich, buttery and chewy, these cookies are similar to a sugar cookie but without all the fuss. They remind us of a Christmas cookie but will be good any time of year. Number Of Ingredients 9

2 stick butter, softened
1 1/2 c sugar
4 egg yolks
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 Tbsp milk
4 1/2 c flour
OPTIONAL:
maraschino cherries

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350. Cream butter and sugar.
  • 2. Add egg yolks, salt, and vanilla. Mix well.
  • 3. Add milk. Mix well.
  • 4. Add half the flour and mix.
  • 5. Add the other half of flour.
  • 6. Mix well.
  • 7. Roll dough into one inch balls.
  • 8. Roll each ball in additional granulated sugar.
  • 9. Place them on the baking sheet.
  • 10. Once on the baking sheet flatten the dough.
  • 11. Place a cherry in the middle.
  • 12. Bake for 8-12 minutes or until golden brown.
