Custard Pie image

My dad and my husband absolutely love this pie.

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 - eggs
1 cup(s) sugar
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
2 cup(s) milk
1 teaspoon(s) pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon(s) ground nutmeg, if desired
1 - unbaked 9 inch pie shell with high fluted edge

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar. Beat in vanilla, salt and nutmeg. Stir in milk. Pour into crust. Spinkle top with a little bit of nutmeg.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F and bake for 35 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is set. Knife inserted near center comes out clean.
