Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire image

This is my favorite cranberry recipe. Frequently there are no leftovers, but if there are, spread it over a block of cream cheese for a great appetizer.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 c water
1 c white sugar
1 pkg 12 ounce fresh cranberries
1 orange, peeled, and chopped
1 apple, peeled, cored and diced
1 pear, peeled, cored and diced
1 c dried fruit, chopped
1 c chopped pecans
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • 1. In a medium saucepan, boil water and sugar until sugar dissolves. Reduce the heat to simmer.
  • 2. Add cranberries, and all other ingredients.
  • 3. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
