BUTTER-FREE YELLOW CAKE image

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup Shortening
1 1/2 cups Sugar
4 large Eggs
3 tsp. Vanilla
2 3/4 cup All Purpose Flour
3 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
1 3/4 cup milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease, flour and line pans with wax paper. Measure out flour baking powder and salt onto wax paper or into another bowl. Set aside. Measure milk and add vanilla. Set aside. Cream together shortening and sugars about 5 minutes until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, scraping down sides and beating well after each addition. Beat in flour and milk mixtures alternately beginning with flour mixture and ending with milk mixture. Mix well and scrape down sides with each addition. Scrape into prepared pans and bake approximately 30 minutes. Cool 10 in pan and then remove from pan to finish cooling.
