Beets With Pineapple image

This is a recipe out of a cookbook written in 1955 by Michigan Consolidated Gas Company.

1 cup(s) drained pineapple chunks..drained(#303 can)
3/4 cup(s) pineapple juice(from can)
1 quart(s) drained beet wedges(2...# 2 cans)
3/4 cup(s) beet juice(from can)
3 tablespoon(s) cornstarch
2 tablespoon(s) vinegar
3/4 teaspoon(s) salt
I DON'T KNOW WHAT THESE CAN SIZES ARE TODAY

Steps:

  • Gradually add pineapple juice to cornstarch,then add beet juice. Place over low gas flame and cook until slightly thickened. Add pineapple chunks,beets,vinegar,and salt; heat and serve.
