Bacon Cheeseburger Deluxe Meatloaf image

Growing up my least favorite meal was probably meatloaf. But meatloaf is "man food" and "comfort food" according to my family and probably yours. I came up with this cheeseburger flavored recipe after scouting around online looking at many recipes. I implemented flavors that I think make for a great meatloaf. I hope you have ...

Time 1h40m

Number Of Ingredients 17

2 lb ground beef
1 medium yellow onion, diced
2 clove garlic, minced
1 c saltine crackers, crushed (ritz works well too)
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp montreal steak/burger seasoning
1-2 pinch black pepper
3 Tbsp dill pickle relish or chopped dill pickles
2 Tbsp heinz 57 sauce
1 Tbsp yellow mustard
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
2 eggs
2-3 Tbsp heavy cream or milk
1/2 c cheddar cheese, shredded
3-4 slice bacon, chopped & fried crisp
1 1/2 c catsup

Steps:

  • 1. In skillet on stovetop fry bacon pieces until crisp, remove from pan and drain on paper towels. In a large mixing bowl gently fold together all ingredients except catsup.
  • 2. Spray medium rectangle baking dish or loaf pan with nonstick spray.
  • 3. Squirt or "frost" meatloaf with catsup. I probably use more than 1/4 C as you can see in the photo.
  • 4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour 20 minutes. About 1/2 way through baking time I try to use a turkey baster to remove the grease that has cooked out of the ground beef dish during the baking process.
  • 5. For the "Deluxe" I serve this meatloaf with a side salad made with iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato & thin sliced raw onion. It really does taste like a Deluxe Bacon Cheeseburger.
