Arizona BBQ Sauce image

This is adapted from a recipe from Kokopelli Winery in Arizona.

Number Of Ingredients 10

24 ounce(s) ketchup (1 bottle)
1 cup(s) white vinegar
7 tablespoon(s) yellow mustard (prepared)
1 1/2 cup(s) red wine (chianti is best)
1 1/2 cup(s) hot water
6 tablespoon(s) chili powder
6 tablespoon(s) ground black pepper
4 tablespoon(s) garlic salt
1/4 cup(s) sugar
3 tablespoon(s) tabasco sauce

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients to a large heavy saucepan (nonreactive) and whisk until blended.
  • Heat over medium-high heat until mixture begins to boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Cool and store, covered, in refrigerator.
