Nutella Gooey Butter Cake image

found this recipe at plain chicken blog, made it for father's day for nutella loving dh. not as strong of nutella flavor as i had hoped but very tasty! i also didn't use the whole 16 oz box of sugar, probably left about 1 cup and it was plenty sweet, but i am posting the recipe as i got it. would be wonderful also with vanilla ice cream since it's so gooey and rich.

1 cup nutella (i used 1 cup)
8 tablespoons butter
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
16 ounces confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • mix cake mix with 8 tbs butter and 1 egg- it will not be wet like batter- and pat into 13 x 9 in pan that's greased.
  • beat cream cheese and nutella until smooth, add eggs, butter and vanilla, beat until smooth.
  • beat in confectioners sugar, reserving a little for the top of the cake (once it's cooled).
  • bake at 350 for 50 minutes, the center will jiggle quite a bit but don't over bake, you want it gooey.
  • cool completely and sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
