CANDY CANE DESSERT BARS

Steps:
- 1. Finely crush crackers (should have about 1 3/4 cups crumbs). In small bowl stir together crackers and granulated sugar. Add butter. Toss until combined. Press onto bottom of 13 x 9 x 2-inch dish. Refrigerate until needed.2. In small saucepan combine chocolate morsels and 3/4 cup cream. Cook and stir over low heat until smooth. Pour over graham layer. Refrigerate until needed.3. In large mixing bowl beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, peppermint extract and vanilla until fluffy. Beat in food coloring, if desired.4. Gradually add 1 cup whipping cream to cream cheese mixture, beating on high speed until fluffy. Fold in crushed candies. Spread over chocolate layer. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.5. Cut into squares. Top each square with candy cane, if desired. Store in refrigerator.*NOTE: Each cracker sheet measures about 5 x 2-inches and is scored into 4 pieces.

KEEBLER SANDIES CHERRY BROWNIE BARS

- 1. Combine crushed Sandies® Cookies and margarine in a mixing bowl and press into sides of 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan coated with cooking spray.2. Prepare brownies following directions on box using water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Pour batter on top of the Sandies® Cookies crust. Evenly place dollops of cherry pie filling into brownie batter.3. Bake at 350°F for 28 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from oven and cool.4. To serve, dust with powdered sugar (cover cherries with a paper circle cut out to avoid covering with powdered sugar). If desired, cut bars into hearts with heart-shaped cookie cutter.HELPFUL HINT: Crushed cookies can be prepared by placing cookies in a plastic freezer or sandwich bag and crushing with a rolling pin. Or, if preferred, pulse cookies within your food processor.

ADD IN VANILLA , SALT,EGGS TO SUGARS AND BUTTER MIX BEAT UNTIL SMOOTH. ADD FLOUR MIXTURE AND SHORTENING ABOUT A THIRD AT A TIME. BEAT UNTIL COMPLETELY MIXED THOURGH.DOUGH WILL SEEM A LITTLE THICK. STIR IN PECANS IF DESIRED INTO COOKIE DOUGH WITH A SPOON AND BLEND WELL. CHILL DOUGH FOR 30-45MINS.ROLL OUT DOUGH INTO A 1 TO 11/4 THICK. BAKE IN OVEN FOR 12-15MINS UNTIL SLIGHTLY GOLDEN....
