1/2 cup salted peanuts
1/2 cup unsalted sunflower seed kernels
1/2 cup raw sugar
2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
4 tablespoons peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 eggs
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup powdered milk
4 tablespoons wheat germ
1/2 cup honey

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit.
  • Place oats on a cookie sheet or other baking pan and place in oven to toast for 20 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Stir all other ingredients together in a large bowl. When oats are done toasting, add them to the mixture stirring thoroughly.
  • Pour mixture into a greased 9x11 baking pan and press down evenly. (Tip: Wet your hands and you won't get as sticky.).
  • Place in oven and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Cut bars and lift from pan while still warm.

1 1/2 cups steel cut oats
3 egg whites
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup dried fruit
1/4 cup nuts
1/4 cup 100% bran

Steps:

  • Toast oats on a dry sheet pan at 400 degrees for 10min or until slightly brown and toasted.
  • Whisk together eggs, egg whites, vanilla, oil, cinnamon, sugar and salt in a bowl.
  • Add in oats, fruit, nuts and bran.
  • Spread in a 8 by 11 pan that is lined with foil and sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Cook at 325 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool, cut and enjoy!
  • If you use a bigger pan like a 9 by 13 your bars will be thiner and cook in approx 25min. Or use a smaller pan for thicker bars and cook an extra 5-10min.
