1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (10 ounce) package large marshmallows
1/4 cup butter
5 cups Rice Krispies
1 cup mini marshmallows

Steps:

  • Grease a 13 x 9 pan with butter.
  • In a large bowl melt 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips at 50% power for one minute.
  • Remove and add large marshmallows and butter.
  • Microwave on high for one minute.
  • Remove and stir.
  • Continue cooking at one minute intervals until mixture is melted.
  • Stir in the rice krispies and blend.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and mini marshmallows and blend.
  • Spread into pan.
  • Place the remaining 1 cup of chips in microwave and melt.
  • Pour melted chocolate over cereal mixture.
  • Let cool and cut into bars.
  • You can also use chocolate rice krispies if desired.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, divided
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • In a bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add egg, milk and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips and walnuts. Spread into a greased 8-in. square microwave-safe dish. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 3-1/2 minutes or until bars test done, rotating a quarter turn every minute. Cool before cutting.

Microwave setting: HIGH 100%/MEDIUM HIGH 70% Microwave cooking time: about 12 min. Remember: You may melt chocolate in a microwave oven in a measuring cup or other microsafe dish. But remember that chocolate burns easily. Always use low power, 50%.

Number Of Ingredients 16

1 c all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 c butter or margarine
1/4 c powdered sugar
1 Tbsp grated orange or lemon peel
FILLING
1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
TOPPING
3 eggs
3/4 c granulated sugar
2 Tbsp lemon juice or 3 tbsp. orange juice
1 Tbsp grated orange or lemon peel
1 dash nutmeg
3 Tbsp all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
powdered sugar, for garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Combine flour, baking powder, powdered sugar and orange or lemon peel in a bowl.
  • 2. Add butter. Blend with hands until mixture resembles cornmeal. You may do this in a food processor - process until mixture forms a soft ball.
  • 3. Press mixture evenly over bottom of a microsafe baking dish. Place dish on a microsafe meat rack or on a microsafe platter.
  • 4. Microwave for 4 minutes at HIGH power. Remove from microwave oven.
  • 5. Sprinkle chocolate chips all over hot crust. As chocolate melts, spread evenly over pastry.
  • 6. Combine all remaining ingredients in a bowl. Mix thoroughly. Pour mixture over chocolate layer.
  • 7. Microwave for about 8 minutes at MEDIUM HIGH power, turning dish once if your microwave is not a rotating one.
  • 8. Let cake stand for a few minutes. Cool in pan. Dust with powdered sugar. Cut into bars or thin wedges depending on dish used.
