I grew up in upstate PA on the border of NY. One of the great treats was to go to Wellsville, NY to the Texas Hot diner! They had the best hot dogs! This is a close replica of their sauce.

1/4 c butter
1 c chopped onion
1 lb ground beef
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter in sausepan over low heat, add ground beef and onions, add spices and just enough water to cover. Simmer over low heat until meat is cooked and sauce thickens, stir occasionally, about 30 minutes Grill all beef hot dogs, steam the buns, layer yellow mustard, hot dog, sauce, chopped onions and enjoy

A spicey meat dressing for the everyday hotdog that will make it BLING. This is a recipes thats over 60+ years old and very easy to make. It can be frozen and used as needed.

5 lbs hamburger
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon celery seed
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon oregano
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 quarts boiling water

Steps:

  • Brown burger and then add all spices till blended.
  • Add boiling water and simmer to reduce to a pudding thickness.
  • Part out after cool into covered containers and then you can freeze.
  • Will last up to 4 monts frozen appox 1 week fresh in refridgerator.
  • Top with diced onions and mustard.

2 1/2 lb ground beef (browned)
1 1/2 chopped onions
16 oz or 2 (8 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
1 small can of tomato paste
3/4 c chopped green peppers
1 can(s) pimentoes
2 Tbsp chili powder
1/2 Tbsp pepper
1 Tbsp salt

Steps:

  • 1. After you have all your veggies chopped, sautee the pepper and brown your burger in the same pan
  • 2. once your burger and peppers are ready, add tomatoes, tomato paste, pimentos, chili powder, pepper and salt
  • 3. let simmer on medium for 30 minutes, spoon onto hot dog and sprinkle chopped onion on top
  • 4. add whatever else you like, such as cheese and other condiments

1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 lbs. 85% lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped fine
3 Tbsp. tomato paste
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. ground allslpice
2 cuos chili sauce
1 cup water
1/4 cup hot sauce (adjust to taste) Franks is our choice
2 Tbsp. Worchershire sauce
2 Tbsp. yellow mustard.

Steps:

  • Heat oil in skillet over medium high heat until shimmering. Add the beef and onion and cook until beef is no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Stir in tomato paste, chili powder, brown sugar and allspice, and cook until paste begins to darken about 2 minutes. Add chili sauce and water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until mixture is thickened. About 7 minutes. Transfer half of mixture to food processor and process until coarsely ground; return to skillet. Stir in hot sauce, Worcestershire and mustard. Serve.
