2 pounds Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and thinly sliced
¾ cup cranberries
¼ cup white sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
⅓ cup quick-cooking oats
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup packed light brown sugar
¼ cup butter, cut into pieces
½ cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C.) Butter an 8 inch square baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, mix together apples, cranberries, white sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Place evenly into baking dish.
  • In the same bowl, combine oats, flour and brown sugar. With a fork, mix in butter until crumbly. Stir in pecans. Sprinkle over apples.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until topping is golden brown, and apples are tender.

1 tablespoon salted butter, softened
One 14-ounce can whole-berry cranberry sauce
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
5 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced into 1/4-inch slices
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) salted butter, melted
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • For the filling: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Coat a 9-inch pie dish with the softened butter. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cranberry sauce, granulated sugar and flour. Add the apples to the cranberry mixture, tossing to coat, and pour the mixture into the prepared pie dish.
  • For the crumb topping: In the same mixing bowl, stir together the oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, pecans and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture over the apples in the dish.
  • Bake until golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup of leftover cranberry sauce or canned whole cranberry sauce
2 Tablespoons flour (if your cranberry sauce is runny)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup old fashioned roll oats
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, melted (1 stick)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350*F Combine apples and cranberry sauce. Mix well. If cranberry sauce is runny, add 2 Tablespoons Flour and mix well. Place sliced apples in a 8x8 casserole dish. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup flour, oats, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add melted butter and mix well. Crumble oat mixture on top of apples. Bake for 35 - 40 minutes or until apples are cooked through and tender to a toothpick. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 - 10 minutes then serve.

6 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries, roughly chopped
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt or 1/4 teaspoon table salt
1/3 cup quick-cooking tapioca
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup unsalted butter

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine apples, cranberries, sugar and salt. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside for about 20 minutes. Mix in tapioca, and set aside for another 15 to 20 minutes, until tapioca has absorbed fruit juice. Spread mixture into a large casserole dish.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and butter. Work mixture with fingertips until crumbly. Spread mixture over the apple-cranberry filling.
  • Place the dish on a cookie sheet to catch drips (line sheet with foil or parchment to make clean up easier). 1 cup sweetened dried cranberries (such as Ocean Spray® Craisins®)
