1 (16.5 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
4 eggs
½ cup coffee-flavored liqueur (such as Kahlua®)
½ cup vegetable oil
1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
2 tablespoons grated orange zest
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 (12 ounce) package mini chocolate chips
1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a fluted tube pan (such as Bundt®) with cooking spray; dust with flour.
  • Combine cake mix, sour cream, eggs, coffee-flavored liqueur, oil, pudding mix, orange zest, and cinnamon in a large bowl; beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until very smooth, about 4 minutes. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour batter into the prepared tube pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 50 to 60 minutes. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Invert onto a plate; let cool completely, about 30 minutes. Dust with confectioners' sugar.

3 eggs, separated
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 cup cold coffee
3/4 cup Kahlua
6 tablespoons butter
1 (16 ounce) package confectioners' sugar, sifted
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
3 tablespoons Kahlua
2 -3 tablespoons hot coffee
chocolate (for shaving; optional)

Steps:

  • Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Beat egg whites until frothy; then add sugar and beat until stiff peaks form; set aside.
  • Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy; add egg yolks one at a time, beating after each addition.
  • Sift flour, cocoa, and baking soda together in a separate bowl; add to creamed mixture alternatively with coffee and Kahlua, blending well.
  • Fold egg whites into batter.
  • Pour batter into prepared pans.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until done; cool 10 minutes; invert on wire rack; remove pans.
  • Cool completely before frosting.
  • To prepare frosting, cream butter and confectioners sugar in a large bowl.
  • Add cocoa, Kahlua, and coffee, beating until smooth.
  • Spread frosting on cake; garnish cake with shaved chocolate, if desired.

I can't take any credit for this recipe. I found it in the King Arthur website. It was submitted by jlydia127. I loved it because I love Kahlua. I used Dana's Kahlua. It is a really rich cake, but wonderful.

1 package devil's food cake mix
1 1/2 cups sour cream
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup Kahlua (I used Dana's homemade Kahlua)
2 eggs
1 (4 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
powdered sugar, for dusting finished cake

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Oil a 12 cup bundt pan.
  • Combine all cake ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Beat with mixer about 3 minutes.
  • Spoon into pan.
  • Bake about 45 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
  • Cool 15 minutes.
  • Remove from pan.
  • When cool, dust with powdered sugar.
  • Refrigerate for best flavor.

1 (18 1/2 ounce) box duncan hines moist deluxe devil's food cake mix
3 1/2 ounces instant chocolate pudding mix
1/2 cup chocolate chips
4 eggs
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup Kahlua
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts, divided

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease or Butter Bundt Pan
  • Mix all ingredients well in a large bowl.
  • Pour into a greased, 12-cup bundt pan Add 12 walnuts to top of cake and bake until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out with crumbs clinging to it, about 45 minutes.
  • Cool in pan and serve on a platter with powdered sugar lightly sifted over the top.

1/2 cup chocolate soymilk
2 eggs
1/3 cup egg white
1 (3 ounce) box instant chocolate pudding mix
3/4 cup strong coffee
3/4 cup Kahlua

  • Mix all of the ingredients together and divide the batter into two greased 9 inch cake pans.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
