Zesty Hamburger Soup image

My mom made this for us years ago. It is a GREAT recipe for colder fall/winter nights. It has a bit of a kick so, WATCH OUT!!!! I love soup, but mostly when it is cold outside. My husband can eat it anytime, so we were eating this spicy soup in July!! I thought I was going to die! lol

Time 4h10m

Number Of Ingredients 12

3 lb hamburger
6 potatoes, diced
1 large onion, diced
2 can(s) green beans
2 can(s) corn
1 can(s) carrots
1 can(s) stewed tomatoes
1 can(s) tomato sauce
1/3 c jalapeƱos, the jarred kind works great
beef seasoning, to taste
salt and pepper
couple dashes oregano

Steps:

  • 1. Brown hamburger in skillet. Drain.
  • 2. Place all ingredients in slow cooker or on the stove and cook until potatoes and onions are done. I put mine in a slow cooker on low heat during the day while at work.
  • 3. *I pour a tad bit of the juice from the jalapeƱos in the soup, just to add that extra kick!! Also, you may need to add more tomato sauce/water/etc. This soup is thicker and some like their soup with more juice. I also use fresh carrots instead of canned carrots. This may require a longer cook time.
