TEXAS SHEET CAKE image

Number Of Ingredients 17

BATTER
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup margarine
5 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup water
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup vanilla
1 teaspoon vanilla
FROSTING
1/2 cup margarine
3 tablespoon cocoa
5 tablespoons of milk
1 pound confectioners sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. In large mixing bowl combine flour & sugar 2. measure into large saucepan 1 cup margarine, 5 tablespoons cocoa & water. 3. bring to a boil and add flour/sugar mix blending well 4. In medium bowl beat eggs. 5. stir baking soda into buttermilk & add to eggs. 6. fold buttermilk mixture into flour/cocoa combination and mix well. 7. Pour into greased 10 x 15 pan and bake @ 400 for 25 minutes. 8. Add frosting during the last 5 minutes of baking FROSTING 1. measure into heavy saucepan, margarine, cocoa & milk. 2. bring to boil and stir well 3. add sugar vanilla and pecans SERVE WARM!
