Sweet Potato Tempura image

This is a side that I make when I make teriyaki chicken or teriyaki steak.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 c water
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg
4 Tbsp sake (optional)
3/4 to 1 c flour
3 Tbsp cornstarch

Steps:

  • 1. Mix together the flour and cornstarch and add to the water, sugar, salt, egg, sake, Stir till well blended.
  • 2. Slice about 4 sweet potatoes about 1/3 inch thick. dip potato slices in batter and deep fry until golden brown. (about 4-5 minutes)
