Sour Cream Christmas Cookies image

Best if dough is refrigerated for 30 min to an hour before rolling, cooking time depends on size of cookie cutouts. I usually add 5 cups of flour.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup shortening (part butter)
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup sour cream
5 -6 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Cream first four ingredients.
  • Add sour cream, then dry ingredients.
  • Refrigerate dough (not necessary but helpful).
  • Roll and cut 1/8".
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
