SAUTÉED PEARS image

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 Firm Red Pears
1/4 C Brown Sugar (light or dark)
1/2 C Water
1 T Amaretto Liqueur
1 t Vanilla Extract

Steps:

  • Peel/core/slice pears to 1/2" thickness. Melt butter in large sauté pan. Sauté pears on low for 1 minute on each side. Dissolve suger in water and pour over pears. Simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, turning and basting pears every 2-3 minutes. Mix Amaretto and vanilla and drizzle over pears. Continue to cook for another 3 minutes. Remove pears and put on serving dishes. Cook syrup on medium heat until it thickens slightly. Pour over pears and serve hot with or without vanilla ice cream.
