Quick Crescent Taco Pie image

I got this from a Country Cooking booklet. It looks easy and tasty. It uses crescent roll dough instead of a pie crust.

1 1/4 lbs lean ground beef
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup salsa
1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1 1/2 cups crushed corn chips, divided
1 cup sour cream
6 slices American cheese
shredded lettuce (optional)
sliced ripe olives (optional)
diced tomato (optional)

Steps:

  • Brown meat in a large skillet, drain. Add seasoning mix, water and salsa. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Spread the crescent roll dough in a 10" pie plate to form a crust, press the edges together at the seams. Sprinkle 1 cup corn chips over the crust. Spoon the meat mixture over the chips. Spread sour cream on top. Cover with cheese slices and sprinkle on remaining corn chips.
  • Bake at 375 for 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Serve with lettuce, olives, tomatoes and more salsa if desired.
