Pecan Pie Bars image

This has been a favorite recipe of friends, family, co-workers and church members for years. It is quicker and easier than baking a pecan pie; not to mention, it serves a lot more people. The ingredients are readily available from the local grocery store.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cup(s) unsifted plain flour
1/2 cup(s) confectioners' sugar
1 cup(s) cold butter (do not substitute margarine)
1-14 oz can(s) eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
1 - egg
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
1-6oz package(s) heath almond brickle chips
1 cup(s) pecans, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 for glass dish). In medium bowl, combine four and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Press firmly on bottom of 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Bake 15 minutes.
  • While bottom layer is baking, in medium bowl, beat sweetened condensed milk, egg and vanilla. Stir in chips and pecans. Spread evenly over crust.
  • Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool. Cut into bars. Store covered in refrigerator.
