Peasant Stew image

My son came up with the name for this recipe because I just through some stuff together when I was trying to figure something out to eat for dinner one night.

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 can(s) hartford house beef stew
1 can(s) carrots, canned, drained
1 can(s) green beans, canned, drained
1 can(s) corn, canned, drained
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp lawry's seasoned salt
1/4 tsp onion powder
1 pinch thyme, dried
1/2 pinch rosemary, dried
1 dash(es) cayene red pepper, ground
1 tsp coarse ground black pepper
1 tsp chopped chives
1/2 pkg ground hamburger 80/20
1 dash(es) sage, ground
1 can(s) campbell's tomato soup

Steps:

  • 1. Brown hamburger meat over medium heat. Add the dash of sage, ground black pepper, onion powder, thyme, 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt rosemary and 1/4 teaspoon of seasoning salt to the hamburger while it is cooking. Drain off any grease.
  • 2. In a large pot pour your can of Hartford House Beef Stew, carrots, green beans, and corn. Heat over medium low heat. Mix these ingredients well. Add to this the ground cayenne red pepper, rest of coarse black pepper, chopped chives, rest of garlic salt and drained cooked hamburger meat. Add one can of Campbell's tomato soup to this mixture. Use your empty soup can to add one can of water.
  • 3. You can add more water to your stew if you would like it a little thinner or add less water to have it thicker. serve with some hot homemade cornbread with butter and enjoy.
