Neiman Marcus image

I started making these in high school in my culinary class. It can be cut into bars and served with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce (which is how we served it in our vo-tech restaurant). This always gets a thumbs up from people. I've also seen variations using cake mix, pecans and coconut.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 box(es) store bought brownie mix
1 stick(s) butter, melted
2 - eggs
1 cup(s) chocolate chips
1/2 cup(s) chopped walnuts
8 ounce(s) cream cheese
2 - eggs
1 pound(s) powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325. Combine the brownie mix, the melted butter and the first 2 eggs in a bowl. Press into the bottom of a 9x13 pan.
  • Sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts over the brownie mixture.
  • Combine cream cheese, powdered sugar and the other 2 eggs. Pour over the top of the chocolate chip layer.
  • Bake at 325 for about 45 minutes until the top layer is set. Remove and let cool. Slice into bars and enjoy.
