I can't remember for sure where I got this recipe, but I've had it for over 20 years. Just use the old-fashioned, inexpensive rice and save money. It's no more effort than using the expensive 'instant' rice.

Steps:
- Put all ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl. Allow room for expansion.
- Cover with wax paper or a vented lid.
- Microwave at full power for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork.
- Microwave at 50 percent power for 15 minutes. Fluff with fork.
- Use this in any manner that you would use 'instant' rice.
