Magnificent Mushroom Swiss Burgers! image

Fun fact: White button mushrooms were originally brown in color, until a natural mutation occurred in the 1920's in Pennsylvania. Farmers took advantage of that color variation to breed the white mushrooms. Ironically crimini and portabella mushrooms the brown color cousins of the white buttons have been increasing in popularity over the last few years.

  • While cheese is melting, open buns, insides facing up on a cookie sheet and spray them with butter flavored cooking spray. Heat under broiler for about a minute or until bread is lightly toasted.
