Low carb diets can get old after a while and it's sometimes difficult to come up with something different. The only thing in this recipe with any real carbs is the tomato sauce. 2 lbs. ground beef
16 oz. baby bella mushrooms, sliced
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
4 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 medium onion, diced
1-1/2 tsp. italian seasonsing
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 slightly rounded tsp. garlic powder

Steps:

  • 1. In a skillet with a little cooking oil and 2 tbsp. butter, saute mushrooms, sprinkling with salt, pepper, and some garlic powder. Cook to desired texture.
  • 2. In another skillet, brown ground beef, onion, and seasonings until beef is done and onions are translucent. Add tomato sauce and mix well.
  • 3. Add mushrooms. Add cream cheese and mix well. Add Parmesan cheese and mix well. Add heavy cream and stir well. Simmer until all flavors meld.
