Kahlua Pound Cake image

I have some catering, mostly small affairs and at church events. This is the recipe that I have sold the most. It gets moe compliments than any other recipe that I make.

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 box(es) devil's food cake mix
3 1/2 ounce(s) chocolte instant pudding mix
1/2 cup(s) oil
1/2 cup(s) sugar
4 large eggs
1/4 cup(s) bourbon
1/4 cup(s) kahlua
- coffee glaze
2 cup(s) confectioners sugar
2 tablespoon(s) cocoa powder - or more depending upon taste
1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla
3/4 cup(s) double strength coffee
- small amount kahlua

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients together. Pour into a well greased and floured bundt pan or you can use regular 9 inch cake pans. Bake 50 minutes. Remove from oven and place on wire rack to cool. Glaze when thoroughly cool with coffe glaze.
  • COFFEE GLAZE: Combine confectioners sugar and cocoa, mixing well. Combine coffee, small amount of kahlua and vanilla. Add coffee mixture to confectioners sugar very slowly, only a small amount at a time, until you reach a glaze-like consistency but not too runny.
