Italian Green Beans image

I planted Roma green beans this year and wanted to cook them with an Italian flavor palette. I've tweaked a few other recipes and come up with this. You can also use frozen beans - just adjust the cooking time. Buon Appetitio!

Number Of Ingredients 7

12 oz italian/flat green beans, trimmed into 1 inch pieces
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 tsp garlic, minced
2 tsp italian seasoning
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)
salt and pepper to taste
grated parmesan, romano or your favorite for garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Cook beans in boiling water until just tender. Drain well.
  • 2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil on medium high. Add the garlic, Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes. Stir for a few minutes until garlic is golden and fragrant.
  • 3. Add green beans, stirring until covered with oil/seasoning and heated through. Salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with parmesan if desired.
