Honey / Garlic Crock Pot Chicken image

My family just loves this meal...I always double the recipe...enjoy! Photo's are mine

COOK TIME IS 31/2 - 4 HOURS ON LOW SETTING 0R 2 - 2 1/2 HOURS ON HIGH
4 - 5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
salt & pepper - for seasoning chicken
3/4 c honey
1/4 c dark corn syrup
1/2 c soy sauce
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
1/4 c ketchup
4 clove garlic, minced
1/2 large onion, chopped
1/2 - 1 tsp red pepper flakes - optional - we like the flavor
4 Tbsp corn starch
6 - 7 Tbsp water
sesame seeds - toasted or not
hot noodles or rice

Steps:

  • 1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • 2. Place the chicken in the crock pot.
  • 3. Mix the soy, honey, ketchup, onion, garlic, vegetable oil and karo in a bowl till thoroughly combined.
  • 4. Pour over the chicken in the crock pot. If using pepper flakes, sprinkle on top.
  • 5. Cook for 3 1/2 - 4 hours on low, or 2 - 2 1/2 on high.
  • 6. When chicken is cooked through; remove from pot. When cool enough, cut into bite sized pieces.
  • 7. In a bowl; mix the cornstarch in 6 tablespoons of water and pour into crock pot. Stir to combine with the honey sauce. Replace the lid and cook on high setting until thickened...about 10 minutes. Return cut up chicken to sauce, and stir to coat and warm through.
  • 8. When serving, sprinkle with sesame seeds. ( which I forgot...Lol ) Enjoy! Delicious over noodles or rice.
