- Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Combine the ground sirloin, onion, chile pepper, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco. Mix but do not overwork the meat or it can make the burger tough. Divide the sirloin mixture into equal portions and gently form into patties about 3/4-inch thick. When the grill is hot, place the burgers directly on the grill over medium coals. Cook for 5-7 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Turn once during the cooking time. You can also broil them in the oven, 3-5 inches from the heat, for the same amount of time. Serve on buns with your favorite condiments and toppings.
