Grandma Betty's Hamburger Casserole image

This was my late Grandmother's goto meal when she was out of time or just not in the mood to cook. It is super easy and very tasty!! Most people have the ingredients on hand in their pantry most of the time. I know I do! This is my family's comfort food. My husband likes it will bread and butter.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 small onion (chopped)
1 small zucchini (chopped/optional)
1 pound(s) hamburger
1 can(s) green beans (french style)
1 can(s) tomato soup
1 package(s) instant potato flakes, dry (4-6 serving) cheese flavored or garlic flavored

Steps:

  • Dice onion and zucchini and put into skillet. Add hamburger (season to your taste, salt, pepper, & garlic powder is what I use.) and fry until no longer pink, and veggies are soft.
  • Prepare instant potatoes according to package. (I use the microwave directions.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Drain grease from hamburger mixture. Add the can of tomato soup, and can of green beans. Stir until mixed.
  • Put hamburger mixture into a non-stick sprayed casserole dish. Then spread the instant potatoes on top of the casserole. Bake for 30 minutes or until the soup starts bubbling up around the potatoes.
  • ENJOY!
