Easy Snickerdoodles image

This is a great last minute recipe. Perfect for those days when you are told at bed-time that junior needs to bring snacks to school tomorrow. You can have an entire batch mixed,baked and packed to go in just under an hour.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2c cup(s) unsalted butter [1 stick]
3/4 cup(s) sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
1 2/3 cup(s) ap flour
TOPPING
2 tablespoon(s) sugar
1 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Cream butter and sugar,add egg and mix until smooth.
  • combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl and whisk to mix.
  • add dry ingredients to butter/sugar mixture in small batches until fully incorporated.
  • roll dough into 1 inch balls and place on cookie sheet. Spray the bottom of a small juice glass and dip into sugar/cinnamon topping mixture and then gently press each ball of dough until it it 1/4 inch thick.
  • bake at 375 degrees for 7-10 minutes (depending on oven) or until edges are lightly brown.
