Our love for a dump cake runs deep. It's made with pantry ingredients, so it's one of the easiest treats to make if you need a last-minute dessert. This version uses cherry filling and pineapple. Under the cake-like topping is a sweet and tart filling. Sprinkling pecans on top gives each bite a nice crunch.

Steps:
- First use an aluminum square or rectangle pan (depending on how much you use, if you use a large pan add more fruit). Open all cans and dump the cherry filling in first.
- Then open the pineapple cans and pour pineapple on top of the cherry filling.
- Next, spread the fruit out evenly throughout the pan.
- Then open the box of store-bought yellow cake (any brand). Spread the dry cake mix all over the top of the fruit until it's covering all the fruit.
- Next. take at least 1 stick of butter and slice it thinly. Place slices completely over the cake mix. This will give it some moisture. Lastly, you can add the pecans on top (this is optional).
- Bake at 350 degrees, uncovered, for 35 - 40 minutes. Keep an eye on it. Take it out of the oven and let it cool. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
- It's similar to a cobbler except you're using cake mix. Dump cake is just what it says - an easy cake when you want something sweet. There are many versions of dump cake. You can also use peaches, strawberries, or blueberries. This is also a good cake to get your kids in the kitchen. Enjoy!
